Stefan Stiftl – Stiftl Restaurant Owner
Our dear proprietor, Stefan. Now he has made it, and his big dream of having his own restaurant has come true. That this dream restaurant would stand right in the heart of downtown Munich was the last thing that anyone expected, least of all Stefan. He is a consummate restaurateur who loves to be directly involved with his guests and, in his spare time, Stefan also likes to explore other establishments to obtain new ideas and impulses.
Planning and achieving a modern yet traditional-rustic restaurant was very important to Stefan and so he incorporated touches of hipster chic throughout. But nonetheless, his restaurant captivates guests with its traditional elements, lovely wood panelling and an authentic Bavarian menu.
"Above all, I aspire to introduce young people to the homey atmosphere found in traditional taverns and to show that a Bavarian restaurant can also be bold, modern and hip, without ignoring tradition," is how Stefan likes to describe Zum Stiftl - Mein Wirtshaus.

Karl Benner – Chef de Cuisine
As our chef, Karl is responsible for the menus, for procuring our ingredients and supplies, as well as for the presentation and recipes. With the aid of his kitchen team, Karl combines regional and seasonal products to create delicious Bavarian dishes. The quality of our products, our regional suppliers, traditional dishes and food trends are particularly important to Karl.
Enzo Mazza – Manager
Enzo oversees all aspects pertaining to our service staff. He especially works in close collaboration with our chef Karl to decide, for example, which dishes get included on the week’s menu.
Enzo is a full-blooded Italian and has been in the restaurant business for 30 years, working in many different eateries. He took the classic path, coming up through the employment ranks from service employee to restaurant manager, and Enzo is now the direct contact person for our service staff, as well as the link between our guests and Stefan, the restaurant’s owner.
The best and only way we can offer you a pleasant experience is to operate as a well-functioning, coordinated team – that means our employees are especially important to us.
Our restaurant managers welcome you to our restaurant and seat you at a good table. Naturally their job is to take good care of you as our guest, but they are also responsible for our staff.
